This was another beautiful building in Quebec, Canada on our trip for Winter Carnival! It was amazing how many buildings looked like this in the Old City. I just couldn’t believe how amazing it was and how beautifully done the architecture was.

Enjoy!

This cute little ice rink was in front of all of these beautiful buildings and this beautiful little castle wall. I loved the wall behind the skating rink, it almost reminded me of some kind of fairy tale. I got a lot of nice photos of the wall, but we had stumbled upon this skating rink. It was so cute I just wanted to grab a pair of skates and stay there all day!

Enjoy!

I’m not sure what this building was, but I think it may have been a church of some kind. I may be wrong, regardless, it was beautiful. It was almost a little creepy the way the trees were against it and the green roof and the stone work. It look as if it were out of a horror movie. Still, it is a beautiful piece of architecture and an old classic on, at that. I was fortunate enough to see it in all it’s glory in person.

Enjoy!

This is such a beautiful building. The architecture in Old Quebec City was phenomenal. I took thousands of photos and almost all of them were of buildings. I would love to go back when it’s not as busy because it seems as though I was rushing and not getting very good angles. There were so many people and vehicles for the Carnival that it was impossible to stop for a picture so I had to take them all walking and even then there were tons of people in them. People were always in the way and I was always in other peoples way. I tried to get as many of this building as I could and this was the only one I could get of the entire thing. It was so HUGE!

Enjoy!

First, I want to start of by apologizing for my lack of activity. It’s been a busy few days of being home.

This photo was taken in Old Quebec, the most beautiful city I have ever been to. I thought this church, along with almost every single building there, was unbelievably beautiful. Honestly, if anybody ever has a chance to visit Quebec, I definitely recommend it.

Enjoy!

Canada Trip February 13, 2013

So, this weekend my husband and our friends are taking a quick weekend trip to Canada for the last two days of Winter Carnival. The whole fascination came from Katie’s father, years ago, mentioned to her not to ever go. Clearly, this is not something you say to a teenager. Naturally, we made it a priority to make it happen at some point. After a few years of talking about it we finally decided on a whim to get our shit together and make it happen. Hopefully, it is as awesome and crazy as we have heard many times before. It took some sneaky convincing of my husband to get him to give in, but he did. We hit a few road blocks along the way, passport, dog sitters, etc…but we are now all set and ready to go. We got someone we trust to watch our dogs and our home and we are one day away from taking an awesome road trip and spending a fun filled weekend in the beautiful Country of Canada. I’m SO excited, and I can’t wait to be there. We had someone else planning to watch the animals, but I was already worrying about it and nervous to leave them with these two. Now that they backed out and we have someone I am very close to and trust very much doing it, I am not worried at all. In fact, I feel that a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I am certain I will have a great time. Before I was worried I would not have a good time because I would be worrying about them and worrying about the wood stove and just unsure that they were being taken care of adequately. Now, I feel very at ease with the whole situation and I could not be more grateful that my good friend Kelsee stepped up to lend us a much appreciated helping hand. What a wonderful friend! I will be sure to get as many amazing photos of the trip as I can and I will be sure to post them and write a nice post of the festivities on here. Also, I’m bringing my computer and hoping for wifi, although Straight Talk does not allow me to use my cell in Canada, so I may not be able to post a photo of the day. Hopefully, I will have wifi and it won’t be an issue, but you never know. See you soon all!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

My Best Friend Muffin and Her Christmas Awesomeness. January 29, 2013

I met Muffin in the Navy and she quickly became my favorite person in the world. Mostly because she’s almost a midget and also she is Mexican so naturally that makes her awesome as well. Oh yeah, and her kid, Mini Muffin. That’s their real names by the way, I’m sure of it. So anyways, she’s awesome and she is still in the Navy, so I never get to see her and Mini Muffin…EVER. It’s highly depressing and just plain not cool. She’s been on deployment for like 2 years now and she just got back a few months ago. I decided to let her get settled with her kid before having a major freakout and telling her she was coming here, (to Maine…yes, a Mexican in Maine.) to stay with us for Christmas. Naturally, she thought it was a fantastic idea, and bought tickets. And by tickets I mean train tickets because obviously who wouldn’t want a four year old on a train for 22 hours? So a few weeks and a LONG train ride later there’s Muffin and Mini Muffin on my doorstep and looking as awesome and little as ever, about to meet my favorite Andrew for the first time ever. Yes, in case you were wondering, this was the best day of my life. The reunion of Muffin and Biscuit, (Biscuit is what she calls me, don’t ask). Definitely the best Christmas I have ever had, we practically went broke giving Mini Muffin all of these awesome toys…which ended up scattered across my house. Not having a child, I bought him a package of stickers…MISTAKE! Anyways, so Muffin and I had a blast and all of our friends LOVED meeting them after hearing about the Infamous Muffins for the last 5 years. Everybody was so welcoming to them and it was just fantastic. The Muffins loved Maine and the snow and we decided that they would alternate between her other friend in Texas and us up in Maine for Christmas’. Now, we are all counting down for two Christmas’ to get them back up here. Here are a bunch of photos from the awesome visit we had with them!

Also, a side note, Mini Muffin has never seen snow so these pictures portray some seriously mixed emotions about snow…and there are no pictures of our Snowman because that shit is harder than it looks and we ended up making a snow penis instead and that’s inappropriate.

Did I mention that Mini Muffin doesn’t speak English? HAHA
